My bachelor thesis is a creative project, the aim of which is to create a prototype chair, made from waste materials. The goal is to explore the possibilities of using textile and wood scraps, as well the limitations of what could be done with them. With my work, I was looking for an alternative fate for such materials, which would otherwise end up in a landfill or face incineration. The aim is to show that instead of throwing away these types of materials, they can be made into something new, as long as you have a blueprint to follow. For my thesis, a chair was completed, the construction of which did not use any screws or nails, only residual materials held together with load belts. The sides of the chair and the three middle beams were cut out of the remaining MDF board, used for the construction of the chair`s frame. I used textile scraps of different sizes as the seat and back cushions. One part of the work is a blueprint that can be used to create such a chair at home.
